How to Speed Up Your Computer Part 1: Disk Cleanup

Clear up some space on your hard drive (C:) from unnecessary log file now. You’ll see how it helps to boost up the speed of your PC operation. Try disk clean up step by step today. Based on Windows XP interface.

  1. Open My Computer – right click at My Computer icon and click ‘Open’ or double click ‘My Computer’icon
  2. Then continue to right click at drive (C:) and select properties.
  3. The drive C properties menu will appear.  Click ‘General’ tab and click ‘Disk Cleanup’ button
  4. Disk Cleanup will immediately run (the calculating process might take few minutes depend on hard disk size and frequent cleanup)
  5. Once the calculating finish, the result pop-up will appear as below. There are few boxes checked, select the files that you want to clean up. Clear the check boxes for files that you don’t want to delete (each of files had the description on it). Then click ‘OK’.
  6. Window will reconfirm of your action, just click
  7. Disk clean up now running. (the process might takes few minutes depend on size of files)
  8. Once finish, the pop-up menu as above disappear. Lastly, click OK to close the disk cleanup process.
